A FARM WALK AND TALK

2 comments

I thought I’d take you on a tour around the farm on this wonderful rainy day. Lots of different veg is ready or almost ready to ship, animals are thriving, wildlife is abundant, trees are growing nicely, and everything just has an overall lush feeling after the much needed rainfall.

Here’s what’s on the program;

  • 0:22 Market Gardens
  • 3:12 Greenhouse
  • 3:57 Hedgerow
  • 4:26 Pond 1
  • 5:30 Pond 2
  • 6:39 Birdlife
  • 7:26 Avenue nut trees and the flerd
  • 10:09 Layers
  • 11:24 Forest
  • 15:37 Nut field and broilers
  • 21:19 Farm scale permaculture design intensive
  • 21:49 Espaliers
  • 22:40 Lean-to-greenhouse

What’s the midsummer status on your farm?

    Great overview video and, as always, lots of valuable specifics. Also, it is important to see how all the various areas fit together and support each other.
    I have a question: how do you convert a field (say 4 ha) from crop land to pasture? Can concurrently planting trees savanna-style be done? And how quickly could animals be introduced?
