POTTING ON TOMATOES

Today I’m going to start potting out all the tomato plants. It’s a homesteading year and we’ve got 600 plants. In the big tunnel I was prepping recently we’re going to have tomatoes, English cucumbers, watermelons and melons.

What are your favourite tomato varieties?

Awesome tips and important info! I prefer non F1 commercial cherry tomatoes like Quatro or Zuckertraube, although tomatoes are not my favourite plants to grow, a lot of care and individual requirements.

Dunking the entire seed trays or pots in water helps hydrate the soil and avoids touching the roots, they float out.

Im still searching for those exact x64 seed trays!

I found similar at BCC or The Farm Dream, but not those exact ones.

Love this man. Perfect way to work alone or with family. I have planted no more than 50 tomatoe plants in Colombia. Other conditions here. Not easy but possible in an organic way with the help of a fumigation with plants once a week (avocado leaves, nettle, agave, plus other plants). The variety of tomatoe I think is from south (we call it chonto) but also have planted egg tomatoe, Santa Maria etc. Now im in germany, just bought your book, scheduled to visit Jasper at Hellebauern next August, starting our family project in south Germany and perhaps visiting you in the short future. Thanks for teaching us a way to be revolutionaries. Our weapons: seeds and soil.
