Happy New Year! It’s been a while – not much going on at the farm at the moment. I’ve been resting a lot and settling into my new life with Ragnar and Grace. School starts in a few days, including for me! I’ll finally be learning Swedish, so wish me luck… Today’s video is an update on my little house on a lake that I’ve been working on.
You can find out more about the summer trainings I mention here.
How have real estate prices been developing in your area?

Happy New Year to you all. Well done. Thank you.
Thanks for the video Richard! It‘s insane how prices for houses have gone up lately. I was looking for properties in Sweden during the last months, but couldn‘t find those cheap houses some people were telling about. Hope prices in Sweden will descend a little in the future.
Nice transformation!
I’m interested to know whether all rural Nordic buildings are made from wood, and how easy they are to heat and prevent rot?
Part of my own business plan is to have wooden lodges in the UK and I’m interested to know if they are comparable in thermal efficiency than a brick built property.
Wow, the place is transformed from the last time you showed it to us! Really like what you’ve done to it. Real estate has been our best investment by far, and no doubt this little house will turn out to be a very wise and lucrative investment on your part too.
Happy for you having both your children there with you now. Such an opportunity to deepen your relationships and create many happy memories and learning experiences. Learning Swedish will make your experience of living there so much richer and more easy no doubt as well. Learning a new language is challenging, but to an English speaker I’ve heard Swedish is one of the easier ones to master. Congratulations taking it on and may it go well for you!
