I’m starting to sow the vegetables for the year. We’ve got 1000m2 under cultivation, and even though the beds are still snow capped and frozen, the lean-to greenhouse now has a nice temperature and it’s time to get the tomatoes in.
What have you sown thus far?

I’m interested in setting up some heated seed starting tables. We bought your farm builds book but there wasn’t mention of this type of table. Do you have suggestions for a good build for this? We are located in Utah- High desert climate, zone 6-7.
Zone 3, Canada, here. 🙂 Consider planting a few beet root and possibly endive that you can then pot up the roots in fall and enjoy fresh greens all winter. No need for light, they work even in a cellar. A 14″ pot, crammed full of cylindria beets produced bright red, tender salad greens for us all winter. There are others “homesteady” crops that are low key and store easily. Have fun!
